GWAR Launch Fundraiser to Support Chuck “The Sexecutioner” Varga During Cancer Battle
GWAR have launched a new fundraiser to support founding member Chuck Varga, best known to fans as The Sexecutioner, as he continues his battle with cancer.
Varga was part of GWAR’s world from the beginning and helped shape the band’s visual chaos, character work, and underground art style for decades. According to the band, the fundraiser will help with medical expenses, hospice care, specialized equipment, nursing support, and living costs while Varga’s wife, Bambi, has stepped away from work to care for him full-time.
The campaign gives fans a few ways to help. Supporters can make a direct donation, purchase a limited shirt featuring artwork by Varga, or bid on The Sexecutioner’s axe, a major piece of GWAR history tied to the character Varga brought to life for nearly four decades.
GWAR also shared that a previous blood drive held in Varga’s honor was a success and thanked fans for continuing to show up for him and his family.
For a band built on monsters, mythology, and over-the-top stage blood, this one lands in a very real place. Varga’s work helped build the strange, loud, unforgettable universe that GWAR fans have followed for generations.
